Look for a good free host? Move along - you won't find it here
I have had my site hosted with zymic since 2008. Up until recently there were a good and reliable host. Notice that I used the past tense? That's because in recent months the number of down times that zymic has been experiencing has been more than what most people should put up with. Furthermore, there is little to no transparency on these downtimes (either on their forum or on their twitter account). Last month, there was a down time for 2 weeks, and there had been no news about what was going on for nearly 2 weeks!
I also find the staff to be of very little help with regards to any problems (especially with the recent down times I have mentioned about).
When they're not having problems, zymic is an ok host - but given the frequency of down times they have been experiencing lately, they are simply not worth it any more. So if you're considering having your site hosted by zymic, let me give you some advice as a former customer of theirs: Don't bother.
Biggest Pro: Um....
Biggest Con: Frequent down times, little help from staff, lack of transparency on incidents
Worthless
Free web hosting but they have a huge selection of file types that aren't allowed. This includes media (.mp?, .wm?, etc) and executables (.cgi, .php, .exe, etc). Also they have no support, just a forum, and they don't allow new users to post in the forum, so if you have a question you're pretty much screwed. This web host is only good for people who want to post pictures of their cats, and if that's what you want to do, you better know how FTP works.
Biggest Pro: Free
Biggest Con: Can't host a real website. Can't really do anything useful.
