No hosting only possible, they want your domain name too
Well, maybe they provide great service and all once you fully comply to their package sell deal but for me this just does not fly,
My case is the following:
I have a domain registered with another registrar, I wanted to move that domain to one.com,
My hosting was done with MobileMe, Since that service closed down I needed a new host platform quickly,
I signed up with one.com after which I got an e-mail telling me that, after confirmation, the transfer would be handled, Never happened, I tried to upload my files to their ftp server, connection timed out
I sent an e-mail to support: no reaction,
So I got on the online chat support, that got an immediate reaction (+ points for that) and then I heard that I needed to undertake extra actions in order to enable them to transfer mv domain, That would take about 5 cave + the time needed for mv old
registrar to supply the information, So, I asked whether I could already upload my site and get an url to where I can forward my domain in the mean time, No go! No hosting without them having hold of the domain name! So for me, one.com is out until they start caring for their clients a bit more,
Biggest Con: No hosting without giving them your domain name
Watch Out for the Small Print
Good for hosting but they do not explain their cost structure nor their cancellation policies. They charge twice the price for subsequent years as they did for the first and if you want to cancel dont leave it until they send reminders as they will tell you too late and you have to pay for another year.
Biggest Con: Invisible small print with unreasonable terms.
