Great Support and Occasional Freebies
I have been using Namecheap for the past 2 years for registering domains, buying SSL certificates and hosting many of my websites. Their shared hosting plan comes with cPanel which has some nice add-ons like Cloudflare, Softaculous, etc.
I have never noticed any downtime while on their hosting and the TTB has been acceptable for a cheap shared hosting plan. Their Account Panel is pretty easy to use and you can easily buy new domains, SSL certificates and additional hosting packages. I have never had any billing issues with them.
Connecting and installing SSL certificates is a breeze with Namecheap. Everything happens very easily and fast on the Account Panel.
On the few occasions that I actually needed support from Namecheap, they handled everything very well. They were willing to make changes to my website's code and my PHP version. Many other companies would just point me to some links online and leave it for me to handle. This was something I really appreciated. They also offer website migration if you are in need and cannot do it yourself.
Overall, Namecheap is a pretty solid company for anything website-related from domain purchasing, SSL certificates, hosting, DNS management and a lot more. Their support is top-notch and I will not hesitate to suggest them to anyone who is looking for a reliable hosting company.
Biggest Pro: Pricing and SSLs
Running a New Website with NO ISSUES!
I have been using Namecheap since August 2019 to host a client’s WordPress website. I have also been managing a few other websites hosted on other providers in the last 7 years. In my experience with other hosting providers, I am quite happy with Namecheap.
Good Experiences:
I’ve had nearly zero downtime issues over the last 6 months. The average uptime is above 99.96%. I’ve also worked with Namecheap customer support regarding the website backup and SSL installation. They’re quite friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. The support guys are very patient and will stay online with you until your issue is resolved. Server speeds are also pretty good compared to other hosting providers. Overall, they’re a very affordable service for those hosting a start-up website.
Bad Experiences:
I really do not like to be waiting for an urgent issue. Sometimes, the customer support queue can be longer than 15 minutes.
In my last 6 months with Namecheap, I did not find any other serious issues. And as I stated in my headline, my overall experience with Namecheap has been pretty good until now.
However, there are many reviews with different issues and I am still worried about service in the future. Nevertheless, I wish to continue with Namecheap if the service remains the way it is now.
Biggest Pro: Server Uptime
Biggest Con: Customer Support Queue
Hosting for Low Traffic Sites
I have been using Namecheap for the last two years to host about ten different sites. At present, I’m using the "Stellar Plus" package, which was previously named the "Professional Hosting" package.
I’d like to first point out their uptime. Since 2018, the number of server outages have steadily gone up. Every month, my sites go down a minimum of ten times. Over the previous two years, they have not improved this issue.
The second point is about their support. It is tough to reach the support through live chat. You have to wait a very long time—sometimes more than half an hour. Most of the time, agents just share a document link and ask you to follow those directions. They don't seem to bother trying to solve it from their end first.
The third point is about billing. They change billing plans without informing the client. Also, they auto-assign SSL certificates after adding a domain to the hosting account. Although the certificate is free for the first year, they bill you for it after the initial period.
Lastly, I’d like to bring up site speed. Usually, shared hosting does not provide high speed for WordPress sites. I did not find any difference in site speed compared to other shared hosting providers like Bluehost and DreamHost. I’d recommend their shared hosting for low traffic sites.
Biggest Pro: Price
Biggest Con: Up-time
Reliable host for newbies
I used to have lots of domains with Namecheap in the past. Last year, I was having issues with my old hosting company. They had raised their prices by a large margin and I experienced lots of problems. So I decided to seek out a new host.
I spent some time researching and finally opted for Namecheap’s shared hosting plan called Steller Plus. I received 50% off for the first year and checked renewal charges for the following year as well. The prices are pretty low compared to my previous host.
Moving 4-5 sites to a completely new web hosting company might be hectic, but Namecheap offers a migration service that made it easy for me to transfer all my data. The support system was quick and easy. I am 100% satisfied with the service so far. My sites are running fast because they are using SSD servers. To date, I’ve only faced one instance of downtime so the chances of your site going down are pretty low.
I have been using Namecheap hosting for the last 6 months and I am looking to stay with them for the foreseeable future. I recommend Namecheap to beginners and professionals alike as they have a whole range of plans to choose from. They are a reliable host that you can depend on for your site’s digital journey.
Amazing for newbies
Namecheap is the best hosting provider I’ve ever used. I recommend Namecheap to all my clients because they are reliable and quickly resolve any issues I have. Customer service is very friendly and responsive. They’re also very knowledgeable about technical topics. They really know what they’re doing!
I tried several hosting companies before I decided to stick with Namecheap. There are very few problems compared to other hosting companies that I’ve tried. Their shared hosting plan is perfect for those who want to create a blog or service website. I’ve used this plan for years and am extremely satisfied.
I can also add 50 domains on this plan and get a year of free SSL on every domain I want to add. All plans also include unmetered bandwidth, a free website builder, a free .website domain name, privacy protection, and 50 PositiveSSL certificates. All with a 30-day money-back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with their service.
They also have an affiliate program that can help you make money. Overall, I highly recommend Namecheap!
Biggest Pro: Reliability and customer service
My first hosting company
I have been using Namecheap hosting since 2011. From the beginning—and to date—I’ve highly appreciated their customer support in technical matters. They’re available 24/7 and resolve all of my issues on the first attempt. Although I live in a different geographical location, they are always available when I need support.
Back in 2013, I installed an SSL certificate for the first time. Being new to web development, I didn’t know how to do that. Lauren, from customer support, patiently walked me through the individual steps. After half an hour, I was an SSL certificate master.
That’s just one story from my years with Namecheap. They’ve also helped me back up my data, remove malware from my sites, etc. Having reliable support is invaluable.
Speed is excellent although there might be slight delays with larger websites. As for downtime, I’ve had one issue over the previous 8 years and nothing since then.
Their cPanel also provides extra services such as search engine optimization-based solutions and Cloudflare combination. I plan on upgrading to better plans at Namecheap when my website starts to generate more traffic.
Over the years, I’ve enjoyed sticking with Namecheap and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
My Favorite and Best Registrar for Domain and Hosting Services
I have and run a small web design company and also work as a freelancer online(Upwork, Fiverr). As an assistant, I use Namecheap to offer domain, hosting and SSL services to my needs and clients' needs.
They have fast and reliable customer support. I feel like I have a team working with me. Not to mention, they have a highly maintained server with a good speed. I can assure 99% uptime on their services. Once you purchase a hosting plan, it automatically comes with free SSL. You can even get a free select-domain on every hosting plan. The stellar plus plan gives a free unlimited addon domain which is very good if you have multiple domain names. Namecheap has a friendly and responsive user interface.
Just last month, they introduced a feature that will enable new domain registrars to view domain history/whois. The platform is very secure and they provide 2-factor authentication. The Cpanel is actually impressive. With the one-click feature, you can get started with most of the softaculous software. They offer great deals from time-to-time which would make users get some services at a cheaper price.
Since using them, I have no reason to dislike Namecheap. They are the best out there. They are good at what they offer.
My review about Namecheap
I have been using Namecheap with complete satisfaction for the past few years. I think Namecheap is an excellent web hosting service provider.
Why do I love Namecheap web hosting?
Namecheap's service means up-to-date service. Their uptime and reliability is very good. Their server and connection speed are excellent and their technical support team are very experienced. They’re quick to find the root of the problem and the fix.
Customer Support: In a word, awesome!
If there are 10 reasons for using Namecheap's service then one of the main reasons I have for them is customer support. They’re very responsive and are very patient in relaying instructions. They are very professional and responsible. They also solve problems using TeamViewer if needed.
Namecheap's dashboard is very easy to access and the interface is very user-friendly. Unlimited email address creation is one of the better features of Namecheap.
I have had a few issues but they have not been significant. Overall, my experience with them has, overall, been extremely pleasant.
I look forward to continuing to do business with them and recommend them to my clients, friends, and family.
Biggest Pro: Positive SSL free for 50 domains
Happy with NameCheap's Web Hosting Services
I’ve been using Namecheap web hosting for almost four years. In that time, I’ve come to really appreciate their after-sales support, and their knowledgeable and friendly customer service operatives. I mainly use Namecheap for my blog websites and business websites. Their live chat support is responsive and—moreover—lets me keep a record of the conversation through email. Their Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section also contains detailed answers that should help to solve the most common problems.
They also support the installation of new scripts and website migration from another web hosting provider. I had an issue where my cPanel files were deleted. I immediately contacted support, and they restored my files from the backup data.
I would highly recommend Namecheap to anyone who is looking for a fast server and excellent after-sales support.
Their SSL Certificate integration system also makes it very easy to install an SSL Certificate through the Namecheap plugin in cPanel.
Speeds are also very fast. After checking on GTmetrix, my website scored in the 99th percentile for load time. Their packages are cheap, they have helpful service, and they’re very efficient! I recommend them to anyone looking for a great hosting service.
Namecheap Web Hosting Review
I have been into web designing and development for quite a long time. I basically worked for the local clients who approach the company I work with, for launching their own websites. While doing so I decided to launch my blogging site this year that will be totally separate from my personal portfolio site.
My website's domain name is whatwelove2do.com. Here I publish articles only about the stuff that we like to do in our life. I wanted to go for a small budget for it. So I chose Namecheap as the hosting company for this website.
There are a few valid reasons for choosing this hosting company for my website. First of all, this hosting company offers very cheap packages. Secondly, you get to host 3 websites with the starter shared package. Needless to say, this is the package I have chosen.
Though I am already into web designing and development, I think anyone will find the Cpanel of this hosting very much easy to understand. Moreover, since this is a popular hosting company there are so many video tutorials on the internet about it that can help you out if you face any difficulties at any stage.
They provide very active customer service. Once I had some issues and got help immediately. After the service, they even ask you about your feedback regarding the service.
So, I think for someone who wants to start his or her own website in a low budget but doesn't want to compromise with the quality of the hosting can start with Namecheap hosting company just like me.
Biggest Pro: 1. It offers cheap packages.
