Very disappointed - do not recommend!
Absolutely terrible customer service. I'd recommend avoiding Domains4Less at all costs. I have been trying to resolve an issue that has left me without access to e-mail for more than 48 hours. After the latest 40 minute conversation with their support chat, I'm told "there might be some technical issue" and to check back in a few hours. I've requested to transfer to a new provider, but this takes some time. I'd recommend that anyone else does this immediately, to save waiting for something to go wrong which Domains4Less will do nothing to fix.
Biggest Con: Not willing or able to resolve technical issues (which were created by their own server migration).
Fine for a Beginner
Domains4Less is a New Zealand domain and hosting company.
Comparatively with other NZ hosts, it is reasonably priced. The customer support is fast and the technical support is reasonable.
Internationally, the speeds of the server are OK.
The control panel is a little sparse and awkward, but once you find your way around everything is there.
The problem with Domains4Less is that there are hidden restrictions. I wanted to temporarily house a small forum here to build the basis of a community, but the "unlimited databases" come with a catch; you can only have 5 connections at once.
There is no clear or obvious information about this. Some would say its misleading. Domains4Less don't promise you unlimited everything, although the one thing they decided to listed as "unlimited" was made virtually useless by a ridiculous connection restriction.
Customer support told me I'd need a VPS; this is misleading. It all comes across as a bit of a ruse to get me to fork out more money.
For a small site, its fine. A dumping ground for images, data, or a personal / business website-- I'm sure it'll do you fine. But for anything longterm or serious, I couldn't recommend this. Its just not worth the time or money.
Biggest Pro: Good customer service, reasonable price for a NZ host.
Biggest Con: Strings attached; this is a low-end host that hides its restrictions.
