| After being a satisfied customer of IXWEBHOSTING for one year I woke up on election day to discover that my site was down. A call to IX got me a major runaround. They had a system crash. FrontPage extentiions wouldn't work. They'd fix it as soon as "humanly" possible. The next morning my site was still down. Again I reached IX this time by their CHAT mode. In a flash my site was back only to go down again 3 hours later. I called again and was told that my account had been suspended for "excessive" mumble mumble. When I asked what did you say the guy told me to hold for a manager. After holding I was told the manager would call me back. He or she never did. I tried calling again to see if I could get anyone from management to explain to me what had happened. I was told to use their email form upon review someone would contact me. The next day my site was still down and now I was completely locked out unable to retrive my valuable files. I sent an email to IX billing asking them to cancel my account if they couldn't contact me within the next few hours to explain why an otherwise in good standing account had been suspended without notice or warning. This, after just a few days ago IX had charged my credit card for 3 months service. As I type this there has been no response from IX. I've never heard of any company that refuses to speak with its customers. Thusly, I've since found another hosting company. But this experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth I intend to make it my life's work to tell as many people as I can what happened to me and to strongly suggest that if they are ever in need of a hosting company to AVOID IXwebhosting at all costs. |
