Flare Hosting: Not Recommended
I have been a customer of Flare Hosting for many years. Recently, their service has deteriorated. Our email, which is hosted
by them, has not been functioning properly. Emails we send to clients get returned to us because the host (Flare Hosting)
has a spam reputation. This is causing lost business and aggravation among my employees. I've contacted Flare Hosting
about 6 times (all documented) in the past 4 days and they have not helped. In addition to this issue, I received a response
from their IT director trying to sell me a more reliable service. That to me sounds like a cheap scam
Below is the email from the It Director:
"Steve,
We can offer you a credit for a 1/2 months hosting for the issues you experienced yesterday. Because the service was never down, only delayed and all hosting service were uninterrupted this is the best we can offer. We understand that email is a critical service, but when on a shared mail server with many customers using it, there will be rare issues like this that we will always work to resolve as quickly as possible. We have other email services that offer more features as well as protection from events like this. We have enterprise mail hosting, using smarter mail, giving you your own IP, and isolating you from other customers. More info here: http://www.flarehosting.com/enterprise-email-hosting We are also working on a shared Exchange hosting offering, which gives you full Microsoft Exchange hosting.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and have been working all day on some new, advanced measures to try to block issues like this from occurring again.
Thank you and have a nice day,
Joe Reazor
Director of IT Services"
