Dishonest host - Avoid like the plague!!!

I signed up for their two year plan and paid in advance. I still have the email in which I confirmed that the price would not be altered.

Not only did they alter the plan mid-contract, they disabled my account without warning and posted an embarrassing Account Suspended message on my three business websites (that public message appears below).

A few months prior, I wrote to ask about upgrading to a dedicated server. They never responded. If they wanted to make more money from my account, the certainly did not contact me.

Without warning, Elite Host LLC posted the following message on my account, followed by a prompt to enter my credit card number in order to restore access. I will not give any money to an entity that disrupts my trust.

The message posted on my web page stated: "Attention EliteHost customers:Our records indicate that you are on a hosting plan that is no longer available.Due to the downfall in the economy, EliteHost has reorganized it's price plans.We are no longer offering the yearly plans. You will need to convert to a month to month plan to resume your service, regardless of your existing plan with us.(Our terms of service states that we can change price plans at any time.) To re-activate your account on the month-to-month Unlimited plan:Monthly Price: $5.00Enter your main Domain Name or cPanel Usernamebelow and press the subscribe button to enroll in an automatic paypal subscription payment to EliteHost"

I contacted the BBB to try to work out a deal in which I could access my account for a period of 30 days with the intention of backing up and removing my digital data and products.

Elite Host refused, even though I was paid through the next seven months. They stated that my request to retrieve and personally delete my account data was "incoherent", that they had already deleted my data so that it could not be backed up. They also stated that Elite Hosts LLC reserved the right to alter their pricing agreement at any time. Unfortunately, they never stated in their terms of service that their customers would not be allowed credit for the months they had prepaid nor had they stated that they reserved the right to lock customers out of their accounts without notice.

A reasonable host would have given their customers a certain number of days to sign up for a new pricing structure before locking them out of their accounts.

Stay away from Elite Host LLC. They are horrible, dishonest, greedy and rude.
