Worst possible customer service and tech support
I previously had a dedicated server (for $800+ a year) and needed to downgrade. My customer service experiences with CI Host had been somewhat poor in the past, but I thought it would be easier to stay than switch.
As soon as I needed to downgrade, the account screwing began. They failed to use my account credit (pre-pay/overpay of over $100+) to set up a couple cheap individual shared accounts, then CI Host refused to refund me. They offered to carry the credit to use over the next TWO years. They also over-charged my credit card, but offered to refund the overcharge (less set-up fees) in approx. 30-45 DAYS.
I've been on hold (phone and online-chat) for countless hours over the years, and especially in the last month (even as I type now...15 minutes so far.) Guess what?? My phone call just got picked up for a split second, and then I was sent back to on-hold hell! I swear CI Host tech support is run by one person, but only 8-4 Mon-Fri, MAYBE.
I've been overcharged and disregarded, and ignored. I still can't log in to my FTP account even a month later. I have to give up and hang up after 15-20 minutes on hold!
The control panels and account online functions are ANTIQUATED and generally not helpful.
Unless you plan on spending big dollars for a dedicated server, don't waste your time and money on shared hosting with this hosting company! You can get shared hosting for a lot cheaper (and better service) elsewhere. Biggest Pro: uptime Biggest Con: customer service, tech support and pricing
